The March for Justice Rally was addressed by Hazem Jamjoum, a BDS & Right Of Return Campaigner, a Journalist and an Academic. He is a policy member of al-Shabaka: The Palestinian Policy Network. A 1948 refugee on his mother’s side and a 1967 refugee on his father’s he grew up in different Arab countries.

Hazem represents Palestinian right of return activists in Canada in the establishment of the Palestinian Coalition for the Right of Return in Palestinian refugee network involved in the formulation of the campaign for Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) and a founding organisation of the Palestinian BDS National Committee.

He was one of the organizers of the first Israeli Apartheid Week in 2005, a series of actions and events which has since grown at an international scale. After heading the largest Palestinian community organization in Canada, he worked with the Badil Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights, editing its quarterly magazine al-Majdal and developing collective self-education programs based across the refugee camps of the West Bank. He subsequently worked with similar efforts based in two Palestinian camps in Lebanon. Hazem is now based in London.
