‘Troubles with Austerity’ will explore the link between austerity and the legacy of the conflict.
Speakers include:
- Alan McBride, Director of the WAVE Trauma Centre, who will tell us how budget cuts have already impacted on support services for victims of the Troubles.
- Goretti Horgan, Social Policy lecturer at University of Ulster will look at how welfare reform will hit the living standards of the poorest, often unrecognised victims.
- Sheena McDaid, a NIPSA activist in the Housing Executive will look at their plans to sell off all housing stock, which is set to scrap one of the most important legacies of the civil rights movement.
