No Justice No Peace from Guantanamo Bay to Ferguson USA
This panel discussion will be chaired by Eamonn McCann and speakers including the Reverend Osagyefo Sekou from Ferguson Missouri who will speak about the killing of young black man Michael brown by the Missouri State Police (see also Resist! 12 noon) and Moazzam Begg. Moazzam, born 1968, is a British Pakistani citizen who was held in extrajudicial detention by the US Government at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba for nearly three years after his arrest in Pakistan in 2002. Early last year he was charged and imprisoned in Britain on tenuous charges connected to the conflict in Syria but was freed after the Crown Prosecution Service claimed new material had emerged. He described his imprisonment as ‘Unlawful’.
