A rare chance to see Channel 4 and Jimmy McGovern’s award-winning Drama Documentary film, ‘SUNDAY’ on the big screen.  ‘SUNDAY’ tells the story of 30th January 1972 through the eyes of the people and community who suffered it.  The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with the writer, local producer and some of the actual people whose stories were dramatised on screen.

Speakers Include: 

Jimmy McGovern (writer):multi award winning writer of acclaimed TV and Film productions including, “Hillsborough”, “Priest”, “Cracker”, “Dockers”, and more recently “Time”.

Leo Young: who lost his younger brother John that day and whose individual story takes viewers into his own family’s loss, and in the immediate aftermath, in his search to find out if a wounded boy he tried to get to hospital survived, takes viewer into the tragedy of the immensity of the other families and the community sense of loss.

Geraldine McBride (eye witness): to some of the harrowing events on Rossville street that day.

Stephen Gargan (Co-Producer):  who researched and co-produced the film for Channel Four Television.

Chair: Marty Melarkey (Nerve Centre): who was instrumental in introducing Stephen to Jimmy
