“Lacho Drom” (safe journey) is a 1993 French documentary directed by Tony Gatlif.  The movie is about the Romany people’s journey from North West India to Spain and consists mainly of music. Ending with the Gypsies’ eventual arrival in Spain, this cinematic journal details a richly nuanced nomadic lifestyle in which family, honour and tradition are as essential to survival as water, transportation and food.
