The Ballymurphy Precedent

Event Details

This film tells what for too many still remains an unknown story.  It traces the circumstances and chronology of the murder of the eleven innocent people shot dead at the hands of the British Army’s Parachute regiment in Ballymurphy, in August in 1971.

This was six months before the regiment travelled to Derry in January 1972 and murdered a further 14 innocent men and boys on Derry’s Bloody Sunday.

A number of Ballymurphy relatives will be in attendance at the screening.  Afterwards they will take part in a discussion about why they got involved in making of the film and offer their thoughts and experiences regarding the current inquest into the killings.  It is presently sitting at  Laganside Courts in Belfast.
